Creative Marketing Associates was formed during the year 1975 by Billy Mitchell and Chuck Rice. Billy and Chuck shared a vision of the power of multipoint program selling and wanted to create this capability within the manufacturers’ representative (MR) channel. Today words like program selling, enterprise or global accounts are used to describe this practice however, inside the MR test and measurement channel only a small network of representatives referred to as Tier 1 reps. practice this effectively today.
Over the years CMA has evolved into an organization that addresses the T&M requirements starting at the DoD program offices to the local T&M calibration labs. Today we use words like vertical accounts, program selling and geography to describe individual sales engineer’s responsibility.
With nine outside sales people and two inside support staff CMA covers the geography of Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia. In addition, and as vertical accounts CMA covers NAVICP Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, NAVICP Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and NAVAIR Lakehurst, New Jersey. These are key program locations for the US Navy with the headquarters activities located within the primary CMA geography.
